Well, if you need something sweet to complete your day, here are a few health-conscious recipes starring almond butter and chocolate that will keep your waistline thin and your sweet tooth satisfied.
These cookies take minutes to make and do not require any baking. You can make them over the weekend and munch on them throughout the week. As long as you seal them in an airtight container, they will last.
- ½ cup creamy almond butter
- ¼ cup raw, local honey
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup organic gluten-free quick-cooking oats
1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Combine almond butter, honey, salt, and coconut oil in a saucepan and heat, stirring continuously until melted.
3. Add in the vanilla extract and cocoa powder and keep stirring.
4. Add in the quick-cooking oats and mix well.
5. Drop 1 Tbsp. portions of cookie dough onto the baking sheet.
6. Let them cool before serving.
These brownies ooze with flavor, but only contain natural sugar from the bananas and a little dash of salt from the almond butter. Talk about love at first bite.
- 3 large ripe bananas
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ cups crunchy almond butter
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Spray a 9x9 in. baking dish with cooking spray or rub coconut oil around the sides and bottom.
3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until creamy.
4. Mix in the almond butter. Then stir in the cocoa powder and cinnamon.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the brownies are slightly dark on top.
6. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely before serving.

- 2 medium ripe bananas
- ¼ cup creamy raw almond butter
- ¾ cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 ½ Tbsp. coconut oil
1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Slice the bananas thinly and arrange half the pieces on the baking sheet.
3. Spread almond butter onto the banana slices, then top each banana slice with another slice to make an almond butter banana sandwich.
4. Store in the freezer for about 30 minutes or until frozen.
5. Place coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until melted. Stir in the chocolate and continue to microwave until smooth.
6. Use a spoon to cover each banana bite in chocolate.
7. Freeze for 1 hour before serving.
